The main design concept was to create an oasis within Mexico City. The interior design of Hotel Pirámides Narvarte is a retreat in where warmth and harmony are the leading characters of the ambiance. The result is a beach lounge atmosphere to get rid of the stress generated by day to day activities in this big city.
The hotel has 83 rooms and 10 different layouts were designed to have an interesting variety of regular rooms and suites. All the furniture is placed with a 30° inclination to avoid the monotony and interact with the different spaces that each room and suite has. Custom design art-objet was designed and produced specially for each room. Wood frames with high resolution digital printed photographs of abstract parts of the human body hang from the walls and match with the tables that have the same kind of images.
Different levels generated by stairs and platform add dynamic to the rooms and empathize the different areas. The bed is always located in the center of the rooms leaving the rest of the furniture to create the other spaces around it. Natural fiber hammocks, dinning room and a Jacuzzi with deckchairs complement the relaxing areas.
The wet zone floors have casted granite ideal for aesthetics, security and hygiene. The lighting design was done with theatrical effects in mind. The combination of dimmers and different light temperatures create the atmosphere necessary for each activity while in the room. All the furniture and surfaces have a special UV coating for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Bed covers and curtains were selected in a color scheme that includes: brick red, pistachio, cream and almond coffee. This color palette is complemented with the natural materials and finishes of all the areas such as wood, granite and marble.
